The American Girl Games Shopping Experience

American Girl is a range of dolls that have been sold for over 25 years. Each girl in the range of dolls represents a girl from a period of American history. There are therefore dolls from the Western Frontier to the modern day. Each doll is named, and has a story and a range of accessories to go along with her time period. Over time, the franchise of American girl has expanded to include books, films, clothes, cards, magazines and now American Girl games. Every year, a new girl is released who fits into the current years fashions, and makes the series very collectible. American Girls also allow you to customize your own doll, selecting the hair type, skin color, eye color even freckles. Every ethnicity is represented, and some even have their very own pet.
The range is best illustrated on the American Girl Dolls website, where the massive range of dolls and accessories is on full view. The website is paradise for your child who is a fan of the American Girl games or series. The website also offers a range of flash based games that your child can play. All of the games are free to play, and are browser based, so there is no lengthy download to clog up your hard drive.
Some of these games are educational, and other help to promote hand eye co-ordination and interest in the various parts of american history. My daughter tried the games herself and she loves them, especially the dress up games and the horse riding games. Some of the games I noted were too difficult for a child to play – one game for instance, teaching children to type, required you to type a word on a blackboard – I have a 60 wpm type rate and could not complete level 1. I would hope that American girl is developing the fastest generation of touch typers in existence!
American Girl Games Are Also Easy To Download
The American girl games are also downloadable as apps; only 3 american girl games are present as aps so far, but I am sure that they will be able to transfer the rest to an app format very soon.
The first game that was released was for Kanini: the girl of the year 2011, who is a girl from Hawaii whose favorite activity is helping her parents at the Shave Ice Shop. In this game, the goal is to help Kanani serve shave-ice treats by completing customer orders. The cup needs to be matched to the order, and then add the flavored syrup and garnishes that the customer requests needs to be added. If the the orders are filled correctly, you earn points, and you try and do so until the sun sets and the day is over. My daughter loved this best out of the American Girl games as Kanini is her favorite character.
The second game that was released as an American girl game was secret wardrobe which gives your child a chance to dress up two girls for the masquerade ball. It is based on the historical best friends Cecile and Marie Grace who lived together in New Orleans in the 1850s. You get the chance to earn new items for the ball by matching items in a fast paced game that tests hand and eye co-ordination.
The last of the American girl games that was released as an app was Cheer on, based on an Innerstar University girl. It is a word matching game that challenges your child to match up letters all over a playing field while jumping over obstacles. My daughter said that this was a challenging game, but she liked it, she only wished it was a bit easier.
Other games in the American girl range include games based on the historical characters, games based on the girls of the year, and also games based on all the pets. All of the games are bright and colorful, with cheery music that add to the world of American girl. If your child is into the American girl games series, then she will really enjoy browsing the website and playing the American girl games. You have to be warned though, she may soon be tugging on our arm asking you if she can buy the latest accessory or pet for her doll!
